Art and Commerce together? Models may like it, designers may use it, but their partnership does not and cannot last for long. Commerce will want profit sooner or later, sooner at times of financial crisis, and art, in its dreamy abstractness cannot keep up. Chanel is pulling off its ‘mobile ART exhibition’, a Chanel quilted bag shaped exhibit which had artwork made by Yoko Ono and such in it, from its scheduled world tour. Zaha Hadid had designed the exhibit and it had grand opening in Central Park, New York this fall.
